Experience contemporary dance, metres of fabric and an eight-metre-long pink limousine in the Metro
The contemporary art fair CHART takes place from today until Sunday, 30 August. Through an expanded collaboration with the Metro, art will move closer to passengers both on the platforms, on the screens and throughout the city.
The Metro is an integral part of the city and a space used by a great many people every day. Together with CHART, we are giving passengers the opportunity to encounter contemporary art as part of their journey, with video art at the stations, dance performances at Kongens Nytorv Metro Station and art tours that incorporate the Metro. At the same time, the art tours draw attention to the art that is already part of Copenhagen’s urban space
Facts about Metro x CHART
- The CHART 2026 contemporary art fair takes place from 27 to 30 August 2026.
- On Friday 28 August and Saturday 29 August at 2:45 pm, visitors can experience the dance performance The Extra Mile at Kongens Nytorv Station. The performance begins in the Metro station and ends in the courtyard of Charlottenborg.
- On Saturday 29 August, visitors can experience Alberte Skronski’s performance Link Pimousine (Pink Limousine), which starts in the courtyard of Charlottenborg at 1:30 pm and ends at Kongens Nytorv Station at 2:30 pm.
- Ten-second videos of artworks that can be experienced in full at CHART will be shown at all Metro stations. The artworks are:

- During CHART 2026, the Metro will become an integral part of the fair’s popular Art Tours, which highlight art in Copenhagen’s urban space. All routes are free and can be used during the art fair as well as throughout the year. You can find all Art Tours-routes her.
Dance, courage, trust and a pink limousine
On Friday 28 August and Saturday 29 August at 2:45 pm, The Extra Mile begins at Kongens Nytorv Metro Station. Here, Metro passengers will encounter a live dance performance in the middle of the station’s bustling environment.
Through a continuous flow of action and reaction, the dancers in The Extra Mile explore the unique energy that arises between people who weave time together through courage and trust - all while being enveloped in metres of fabric.
The performance is choreographed by Copenhagen International Dance Festival and Lotte Sigh and concludes in the courtyard of Charlottenborg.
On Saturday 29 August, Alberte Skronski’s artwork Link Pimousine (Pink Limousine) will travel from the courtyard of Charlottenborg to Kongens Nytorv Station. The performance begins at 1:30 pm and concludes at the station at 2:30 pm.
Two performers in costumes together form an eight-metre-long pink limousine, moving through the crowds and going places no limousine has gone before.
Focus on art in the urban space
This year, the Metro will become part of CHART’s popular Art Tours, which focus on art in Copenhagen’s urban space. For the first time, audiences can experience selected routes by Metro and by car.
For example, visitors can travel by Metro from station to station across the entire Metro network and experience art at Metro stations on all four lines. “With these routes to art in public spaces, we want to help democratise art. Art in the urban space is freely and publicly accessible to everyone, but it is often overlooked. With the Art Tours, we highlight the many works that are already part of the city. During CHART, visitors can, among other things, take part in a run where I guide them to art in the streets of Copenhagen, but the routes can be used all year round,” says Julie Quottrup Silbermann, Director of CHART.
