Rise Early: Strøm Transforms Metro Train into a Musical Sunrise Journey
If you get up early this Sunday, a unique experience awaits in the Metro. As part of Strøm’s Trans Metro Express, you can as a new addition this year embark on a gentle Sunrise Journey aboard a dedicated sunrise train on M1/M2.
The Sunrise Journey departs from Vestamager Station at 07:05. Until 09:15, you can experience four different artists, each of whom has composed an exclusive electronic sound piece for the route to welcome the new day - both above and below ground.
The Metro is an essential part of Copenhagen and many people’s daily lives. That is why we also want to bring the city's cultural scene closer to our passengers. Together with Strøm, we are creating an experience that adds an extra dimension to the journey across the city and shows that the Metro can also serve as a unique space for culture
Facts about Trans Metro Express 2026:
- As something new this year, Strøm offers a Trans Metro Express Sunrise Journey in the Metro on Sunday 27 September from 7:05-9:15.
- As always, there will also be the opportunity to join the party with DJs and pumping electronic rhythms for the Trans Metro Express Sunset Trip on Sunday 27 September from 19:05-21:15.
- You can get on and off the train as you please, but both experiences are in one train only, so arrive in good time if you want to be sure to get on board.
- Both experiences are free for everyone who has a valid ticket or Rejsekort for the Metro – as long as there is room on the train.
How to Participate in the Sunrise Journey
Come as you are, bring a soft pillow or your morning coffee, and hop on the Metro during one of the following four departures this Sunday. The sunrise train stops at all regular stations along the route, and anyone with a valid metro ticket or Rejsekort can board along the way, as long as space permits.
- 07:05-07:30 M1 Vestamager – Vanløse: Vio lino (live)
- 07:40-08:05 M2 Vanløse – Copenhagen Airport (CPH): Lasse Martinussen (live)
- 08:15-08:40 M2 Copenhagen Airport (CPH) – Vanløse: Hasfeldt (live)
- 08:50-09:15 M1 Vanløse – Vestamager: Becca Reyes (live)
In addition to the Sunrise Journey, Strøm will once again turn a metro train into a large electronic party during the Trans Metro Express Sunset Trip from 19:05 to 21:15.
