The statutory standstill period for the tender concerning the future operation and maintenance of the Copenhagen Metro has now ended.

This means that KBH Metro Partner ApS will become the new operator of the Metro.

At the end of August, Metroselskabet announced that KBH Metro Partner had been selected as the future operating company for the Copenhagen Metro. The tender attracted significant international interest: seven parties applied for prequalification, and three companies were selected to submit bids. KBH Metro Partner was selected based on an overall evaluation of price and quality.

The contract is expected to be signed at the end of September 2026 with operations starting in September 2027, with a contract term of 12 years until 2039, plus an option for a further three years.

The new contract is intended to strengthen the framework for collaboration with the new operator, while ensuring continued stable Metro operations and providing a strong foundation for the extensive renewal projects planned for M1 and M2 in the coming years.
