Metroselskabet is responsible for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the Copenhagen Metro. At the same time, we are working on the metro projects of the future, including the forthcoming M5 to Refshaleøen and Lynetteholm, as well as a potential extension in Nordhavn. The Metro and the light rail system are key elements in the sustainable development of the Greater Copenhagen area, and the public transport infrastructure is expected to be modernised and expanded for many years to come.

About the position

Would you like to work with complex procurement processes and contracts in some of Denmark’s largest and most significant infrastructure projects?

As Senior Legal/Procurement Manager, you will hold a strategically important role in Metroselskabet’s Procurement and Contract Management department. The department is responsible for procurement strategy, tendering and contract management across the organisation and in connection with the company’s major construction projects.

You will join a highly professional team characterised by close and constructive collaboration. In this role, you will advise the organisation and lead procurement processes in close cooperation with project managers and technical specialists, in accordance with the rules governing utilities procurement.

Your responsibilities will range from developing procurement strategies and preparing tender documentation to evaluating bids, conducting negotiations and concluding contracts. You will work with complex construction contracts relating to infrastructure and transport systems, as well as the procurement of consultancy services, IT systems and other operational services.

The role requires strong legal and commercial judgement, as well as the ability to strike an appropriate balance between Metroselskabet’s interests and risks and suppliers’ contractual terms.

Your primary responsibilities

Your tasks will include:

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies for major projects and other procurement areas
  • Advising on and conducting tender procedures in accordance with applicable procurement legislation
  • Preparing tender documentation and contracts in collaboration with technical and commercial specialists
  • Evaluating bids and leading complex commercial negotiations
  • Managing dialogue with suppliers and other relevant stakeholders
  • Contributing to efficient, constructive and professional collaboration, both internally and externally
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the department’s methods, processes and tools

About you

We expect that you:

  • Hold a Danish law degree (cand.jur.), a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Commercial Law (cand.merc.jur.), or an equivalent legal qualification
  • Have at least 10 years of experience with public procurement law and construction law
  • Have substantial experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts
  • Have strong commercial awareness and experience in supplier negotiations
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, in Danish and English
  • Thrive in cross-functional collaboration and are able to build strong relationships across the organisation and with external partners
  • Actively contribute to a positive, inclusive and highly professional working environment
