Since 12 January, the M3 line has been closed to passengers to ensure a good start to the test run on the M4, which shares the system and trains with the M3 - as well as tracks and stations on the line from Østerport to Copenhagen Central Station.
Since 12 January, Metro buses have been deployed on the M3 line, but from the night of Monday 27 January, it will again be possible to board the Metro at the M3's 17 stations.
‘Our job is to provide our passengers with good and timely public transport, so of course it hurt that we had to close an entire line for two weeks. Fortunately, this happens very rarely, and in this case it was to get ready to connect another metro line to our system. The work to test and connect the M4 to the M3 has gone according to plan, so we are ready to welcome our passengers back on the M3 line during the night on Monday. Thank you to all our passengers for the great understanding and patience we have been met with during the test run,’ says Henrik Plougmann Olsen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Metroselskabet.
M4 Nordhavn opens on Saturday 28 March. Prior to the opening, the final adjustments and installations will take place so that the authorities can authorise the line to open for passengers.
