The Metro's passenger numbers in July were 9.4 million passengers, which was 4% higher than the same month last year. Year-on-month growth is 11% compared to 2024, which is why the expectations for this year's total passenger numbers have been adjusted upwards from the previously budgeted 131 million passengers to 135 million passengers in 2025.

Operations on both M1/M2 and M3/M4 were stable in July with an overall punctuality of 99.5% and 99.3% respectively. During the summer, there has been focus on the temperature in the Metro on the hottest summer days. The trains are currently ventilated but not air-conditioned, and especially on the above-ground lines, the temperature in the trains rises on hot summer days. The Company is collecting data to map the extent and assess possible future solutions.

At the meeting, The Company's Board of Directors was briefed on the company's work with sustainability in construction projects and the status of the ambition to reduce the climate footprint of new lines by integrating sustainability in the design phase and weighting CO2 on par with safety. On the M5, reductions have been achieved in the design phase by changing the alignment, using less concrete and steel and optimizing structures. At the same time, for the first time, focus areas for resources and biodiversity have been established with initiatives for reuse, recycling and better waste management. Metroselskabet contributes by setting ambitious requirements, driving innovation in collaboration with suppliers and sharing experiences, thereby contributing to the transformation of the industry.

"The Metro's next lines will not only bring Copenhageners, citizens of Frederiksberg and the many visitors the city has faster - they will also pave the way for a greener building and construction industry. By halving the carbon footprint and bringing the circular economy into play from the first line of the blueprint, we show how large public projects can drive innovation and green transition. It's about climate, using fewer resources and creating an urban development that lasts for many generations to come," says Metroselskabet's Chairman of the Board Tommy Ahlers.

In the spring, Metroselskabet conducted a dual materiality analysis that identifies which areas of sustainability - including environment, social conditions and corporate governance (ESG) - are of greatest importance to The Company and the outside world. The analysis shows that climate change and resource consumption are the most critical areas. The Company will use the results to strengthen its sustainability efforts and will in future report semi-annually on ESG status to the Board. The Board approved the analysis and the new reporting model.

The Board was also briefed on the pre-qualification for the tender for the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contract. This included a review of the results of the evaluation process, which Metroselskabet initiated on August 19, 2025 immediately after the deadline for applications expired. In the evaluation, The Company has assessed the economic and financial capabilities of the companies in question, as well as their technical and professional capabilities. Following prequalification and the subsequent conduct of negotiations with the bidders and their submission of revised offers, the tender is expected to be completed in August 2026.
