New Pedestrian Bridge from Etta Camerons Vej

Soon the permanent pedestrian bridge from Sluseholmen to the Metro will be ready. This means we will say goodbye to the temporary pedestrian bridge.

In June 2024, the metro station Sluseholmen opened. However, as several other construction projects were still ongoing in the area around the station, we installed a temporary pedestrian bridge from Etta Camerons Vej to the new station to ensure access from Sluseholmen.

Now, the other construction projects in the area have progressed to a point where the permanent pedestrian bridge can be put into use. Therefore, it is time to say goodbye to the temporary pedestrian bridge and hello to even better access for everyone.

The permanent pedestrian bridge will open in mid-February

The developer behind the permanent pedestrian bridge expects it to open at the end of week 7. Therefore, at the start of week 8, we will begin dismantling the temporary pedestrian bridge and transporting it away. We expect it will take 3–4 days to take down and remove the temporary pedestrian bridge.

You may experience some daytime noise while we dismantle and transport the temporary pedestrian bridge. There may also be short periods - for example, when lifting larger elements with a crane - when access to the permanent pedestrian bridge will be temporarily unavailable, as space at the end of Etta Camerons Vej is limited. Staff on site will guide you safely.

Work may be affected by weather, wind, and other unforeseen factors, so the schedule is subject to change.

The station square will be completed afterwards

Once the permanent pedestrian bridge is open and the temporary pedestrian bridge has been removed, we will need to finish a small section of the station square - specifically the area where the temporary pedestrian bridge landed on the square. This work will be carried out as soon as possible after the temporary pedestrian bridge is removed. After this, Metroselskabet's work in the area will be completed.
