About the investigations
The preliminary investigations consist of several types of investigations. First, test drilling is carried out, and pump tests are also carried out at selected locations. The two types of surveys require different equipment, which means that once the test drilling has been completed, the drilling rig is moved away to make room for the equipment needed for the pumping test.
The contractor GEO is carrying out the work for Metroselskabet, and the plan is for both investigations to be carried out immediately after each other. However, there may be a shorter period between the two types of preliminary investigations.
Before the preliminary investigations begin, Metroselskabet and the contractors are in dialogue with the landowners whose property may be affected. In addition, the Danish Agency for Culture and Palaces is involved in areas such as Amager Fælled and Lergravsparken.
The purpose of the surveys is to clarify the geological conditions and groundwater conditions around the areas where the future stations, shafts, and tunnels are expected to be located if the line is approved.
This work has now begun, and over the next six months, drilling will be carried out at 80 different locations in the city. In October, this will include DR Byen and Islands Brygge, including the path on Amager Fælled.
