At the meeting, the board was presented with preliminary passenger figures for November. The figures show that passenger numbers continue to grow across the entire metro network (M1, M2, and M3), with Cityringen carrying just under 1 million passengers per week. Fridays and Saturdays have been particularly busy days.
“It is very satisfying that there continues to be great interest in the City Ring and that this is boosting passenger numbers across the entire metro system,” says Board Chairman Jørn Neergaard Larsen.
At the meeting, the board was informed about the status of the grinding of the Cityringen rails, which has been completed. In the coming period, measurements will be carried out at neighbors' homes to assess the noise level with a view to continuing work on reducing any nuisance.
The board also received a status update on the completion of M4 to Nordhavn, where the trains are being test run. In the new year, test runs of the trains to M4 will begin to be extended to the section from Copenhagen H towards Orientkaj. This means that the trains will be tested on parts of the route where five stations coincide with the Cityringen, and it will therefore be impossible to avoid affecting operations. The Board discussed how to achieve the best balance between ensuring the rapid completion of M4 on the one hand and minimizing the inconvenience to Cityringen passengers as much as possible during the test period on the other.
