News from the board meeting

The construction of the Cityringen is in its final phase, and the Metro Company's board of directors continues to monitor the work closely and report regularly on progress and risks. The tracks have been laid, trains and train systems are being tested, platform doors have been installed, the main staircases have been cast, and work on skylights, ceiling cladding, and wall cladding is underway.

The work on the interior design of the stations is one of the focus areas that Metroselskabet has identified as one of four risks that are being monitored with particular attention. Metroselskabet has noted that the anticipated rapid ramp-up after the New Year, which is considered crucial to meeting the agreed deadlines, has not taken place.

After a series of discussions between CMT and Metroselskabet, the parties have reached a solution, which has been approved by the board, to minimize the risk of delays and cost overruns. The solution maintains the current schedule, but Metroselskabet assesses that the risk of delay has increased significantly as a result of the very low level of activity at CMT in January.

As there are significant daily penalties attached to the contract milestones, this means that there are still significant daily penalties attached to CMT's achievement of the milestone at the end of March (the RHO milestone), and in addition, penalties have been added related to ongoing compliance with the progress of the AF works. This provides a strong incentive for CMT to get back on schedule. The Cityring schedule is therefore still based on the project being completed at the end of July, and the contractor CMT's deliveries and daily fines are tied to this.

Metroselskabet expects to be able to announce an opening date after the company has assessed whether the planned milestones at the end of March and April have been achieved. After this date, the company will be able to announce an expected opening date, subject to final safety approval.

In addition, the board has approved a plan for activities in 2019 to attract customers as quickly as possible when the Cityringen opens. The activity plan is part of the commercial action plan and also includes a description of activities that will help provide passengers with a seamless travel experience, e.g., shared passenger information, announcements, etc., across the new metro lines.

The Board of Directors also approved Metroselskabet's digitalization strategy, which forms the basis for how the company will work with digitalization in the future. The aim is to ensure better use and implementation of digital work processes and to support the company's work with easier procedures and higher quality.
