At its meeting on December 16, the Board of Directors approved the allocation of funds from Metroselskabet's climate pool for cloudburst and storm surge protection of the existing Metro. The purpose of the climate pool is to ensure that - despite unforeseen and major changes in both national and international climate forecasts - the daily operation of the Metro and the life of the facility can be secured through investments in preventive measures. A total of DKK 55 million has been allocated for this work in the period up to 2021.

The Board was also briefed on the Metro's ongoing emergency preparedness work, including in relation to terrorism, with a focus on cooperation with the relevant authorities. In connection with this work, an analysis will be initiated in 2017 to assess whether - and if so, how - Metroselskabet's emergency preparedness work can be optimized.
