At the meeting on December 15, the Board was presented with the results of the recently completed tender process for the operation and maintenance contract for the existing Metro, which expires on December 31, 2018. On this basis, the Board approved that Metroselskabet can enter into a new five-year contract with the bidder Metro Service A/S, which is also responsible for the current contract.
"In recent years, Metro Service has guaranteed a high level of operational stability and has thus contributed to high passenger satisfaction in the Metro and impressive passenger growth. With the new contract, which runs until mid-2024, The Company will motivate Metro Service to maintain the high operational reliability and further improve the company's customer service when passenger growth is expected to continue and the capacity challenges in the system become greater", says Chairman of the Board Jørn Neergaard Larsen.
In connection with the new contract, a number of improvements have also been made. Among other things, clauses have been incorporated with requirements for wages and working conditions, apprentices and the working environment. A total of three Companies were pre-qualified to bid for the operation of the Metro.
