At the meeting, the board was briefed on the status of the completion of the Cityringen, including the final work on testing the system and rectifying faults and deficiencies – and the remaining risks ahead of the opening. The Board of Directors also received a review of the plans for the opening event on Sunday, September 29. The Board of Directors also decided that on the opening day, there will be free transportation for all passengers on the metro.

"When we open the Cityringen after eight years of metro construction, it will naturally be a major and very joyful event. We look forward to welcoming all the many thousands of new customers to the new system. On opening day, there will be free transport for all metro customers, and we hope that as many people as possible will come and join us in celebrating the capital's brand new, integrated metro network," says Jørn Neergaard Larsen, Chairman of the Board of Metroselskabet.

Metroselskabet will present the final program for the opening day itself at the beginning of September.

At the meeting, the board was informed about the operational stability of the metro in June and July. Operational stability indicates the proportion of planned departures that leave on time. In June, the figure was 99.8%, and in July, it was 99.3%. The June figure is the highest in the metro's history, surpassing the previous record of 99.7% set in April 2017. The overall operational stability figure to date is 99.3%.
