News from the board meeting

Posted: 28. august 2020

At the meeting, the Board received the annual status report on Metroselskabet's occupational health and safety efforts in relation to work on construction sites. In the first half of 2020, there was an increase in the number of accidents resulting in lost time on the Sydhavn project, parallel to an increased level of activity on the project. However, there has also been a decrease in the proportion of serious accidents. The 10 accidents resulting in lost time in 2020 can thus be categorized as minor, e.g., trips and falls. With an average accident frequency for the last 12 months of 13.4, the Sydhavn project is significantly below the national average of 24.4 for the construction industry as a whole and 30.9 for construction site workers. The Sydhavn project continues to perform significantly better than was the case with the Cityringen project at a similar stage.

"Metroselskabet has a clear goal that no one should be injured on the projects. It is very ambitious. But it is a high priority, and we have made much better progress from the start at Sydhavn than at Cityringen, where we nevertheless ended up in a better place than we did on M1/M2. Work on safety and the working environment requires constant and sustained effort – not least because of the enormous size and complexity of the metro projects. Therefore, safety must continue to be a very central part of what we all relate to. Every day," says Metroselskabet's Chairman of the Board, Jørn Neergaard Larsen.

Finally, the Board was also briefed on the status of the replacement of hand sanitizer and the use of face masks in the metro.
